| Most of the questions below are extracted from our correspondence with our clients. Have a look, maybe the question forming in your mind right now has been already answered. Q Is it possible to change the itinerary of the tours on your web site! A Of course. One of the major advantages of our tours is that they are highly customizable. You can have changes made to one of them, join two tours together, or just tell us about the places you want to see, and we’ll make a whole new tour just for you! Q Do you sell airline tickets? A Velvet Tours does not offer airline tickets. You have to make your own arrangements for Airline tickets. Q When is the starting date for the tours? A YOU decide the starting date for the tour. Since our tours are entirely private and in most cases custom made, guests taking the tour decide the dates, according to their own preference. Q Where is the starting point of the trips? A The best way to arrive is on Bucharest International Airport, but we are flexible and ready to start the tour from wherever you find suitable. Q How will I recognize the tour guide? A Your guide will be waiting for you at the agreed upon meeting place holding a sign with your name written on it. Q Is there a limit to the number of people in a group? A There is no set limit to a group, we can accommodate any size of group. Q I don’t see any hotel names listed under accommodation. What type of hotels are you offering? A A decision on the hotels used on a particular tour is always a result of the pre-tour correspondence between us and our clients. We have a very diverse choice of hotels, ranging from family run hotels and guesthouses to modern 3, 4 and 5 star hotels. In some smaller cities, the choice may be a bit more limited. When you decide to book a tour, we will discuss your preference for accommodation, and reservations will be made accordingly. Q How about meals? I see that in most cases, only breakfast is included. A Having meals included means that you would have to be in a certain time, at a certain place just so that you don’t miss a meal reservation. But then, you are on a private tour, and maybe you’d like to spend more time at one of the sights than planned, and you might end up missing a meal you paid for. That’s why, to ensure maximum flexibility throughout your trip, meals are usually planned as we go, unless they are really specific for the area, and it would be a shame to miss (such as a home hosted lunch or dinner). Your guide will always have suggestions for places that you can go to for meals, no matter where you are along the route. Q How about changes of itinerary on the fly? Can we do that, if we decide to visit something which was not initially included? A Changes on the fly can be done to a certain extent. As mentioned above, you can always choose to skip a meal or a sight, or swap for a totally different sight altogether. However, alterations of itinerary that imply hotel reservation changes are subject to rooms availability. Also, please not that in the case of last minute hotel cancellations, sometimes the hotel charges penalties, that can be up to 100% of the reservation cost. Additional costs generated by on-the-fly changes will be billed separately. Q Do your tours offer any insurance related services? A No. We recommend to all of our clients to carry a medical insurance that would cover any health-related costs that might incur while on the trip. Insurance for lost/stolen luggage is also recommended. Q Does the guide take care of his own meals? A Yes. The guide will have a meal allowance, which will cover his meals. Q Will the guide be with us at all times? A The guide will be there long enough to make sure that you are comfortable and everything is according to your desire. However, you will also get to spend some time at leisure in order to cover your own possible interests in privacy. Q What type of payment do you accept? A We accept payment in cash (Euro, USD, or Romanian currency LEU), via credit card with PayPal (through a simple, secure online email form using your email address). Q Do I have to pay you up front for my vacation? A No. The deposit requirements are set based on the type of vacation package you select. That deposit is made via Pay Pal. Q Do I need a PayPal account? A You don’t need a PayPal account to buy tickets. PayPal is just our credit card processor. When you go through to PayPal’s site, look for the link on the left that allows you to use your credit card without logging in. |
